The Meg Hut was one of John’s favourite places. The plan is to meet at the start of the DOC walking track 10:30 am  and walk to the Meg hut. It will take about 2 hours to walk to the hut. Alternative transport can be organised if you are unable to walk the distance. Please contact Jo 021888753 if you need transport. A simple BBQ lunch will be provided so please RSVP. 

John used to walk to the Meg hut before he went off to school in Oamaru. He would fill a water bottle from the river and take small sips when he was away to remind him of Cardrona.

Directions 

Turn right over the bridge into Snow Farm instead of the usual left. Follow the signs to the Doc Track. Meet at the carpark. At 10:30.

BBQ sausages supplied at the hut.
